Nekron is a fictional supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. He is primarily associated with the Green Lantern mythos.
Nekron is the lord of the Black Lanterns and represents Death itself in the DC Universe. He exists in a realm beyond life and death, and possesses the power to raise the dead, turning them into Black Lanterns fueled by black power rings.
Nekron's first full appearance was in Tales of the Green Lantern Corps #2 (May 1981), although he made a cameo appearance in Green Lantern (vol. 2) #6 (July-August 1961).
He served as the primary antagonist of the "Blackest Night" storyline, a major event in DC Comics, where he sought to eliminate all life and usher in an existence of pure death.
